Dispenser for sparkling or still water
We at Camping Moosbauer have decided to ban all plastic bottles from our shop, solely for environmental reasons. It may seem strange and inconvenient to you that you cannot find bottled water here. Nevertheless, we say:
We will not compromise on this.
Plastic pollution of the environment, and in particular of the oceans, accounts fo a large proportion of man-made environmental destruction. A plastic bottle takes a full 450 years to degrade. Before that, the plastic breaks down into microplastics and thus finds its way back onto our plates via the food chain.
Furthermore, bottled water often travels long distances and causes high CO2 emissions. A water dispenser like the on in our shop uses regional water and reduces the ecological footprint by a factor of a thousand compared to bottled water.
The quality of the drinking water in South Tyrol is excellent. The Provincial Agency for the Environment and Climate Protection is responsible for protecting drinking water resources and analysing drinking water quality. Numerous springs and deep wells supply raw water to the drinking water supply systems, which distributes it to consumers via the mains.
In 2025, approximately 5,500 litres of water were dispensed here in the shop. This represents a potential saving of at least 5,500 plastic bottles.
